CM Maryam Nawaz sets July deadline for Lahore Access Corridor Project

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday issued a directive for the accelerated completion of the Controlled Access Corridor Project, mandating a strict deadline of July.

During her inspection of the Bund Road Project, she surveyed the service roads stretching from Sigiyan Interchange to Babu Sabu and evaluated the elevated segment of Bund Road.

Highlighting the need for urgency, she pointed out the public inconvenience caused by the project’s prolonged duration.

The on-site briefing was provided by Tahir Farooq, Director General of Lahore Development Authority (LDA), and Asrar Saeed, Chief Engineer of LDA. They updated her on the significant progress made, especially with the high-rise section of Package Two, which is nearing readiness for traffic reopening.

The Chief Minister stressed the resolution of issues impacting the residents due to the ongoing construction and the closure of adjacent service roads.

She reiterated the government’s dedication to enhancing infrastructure and alleviating transportation difficulties in Lahore, emphasizing the strategic importance of this project.
