China provides support to Gwadar families ahead of Eid

ISLAMABAD: In a show of solidarity and support ahead of the Eid ul-Adha celebrations, the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, along with the China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC), distributed meat from sacrificial animals to the needy in Gwadar on Sunday.

More than 20 goats were sacrificed, and their meat was packaged into 2 kg parcels and distributed among 393 underprivileged families.

This act of generosity is part of a broader effort to foster a sense of brotherhood and extend philanthropic support to those in need.

Zahid Baloch, from a local fisher family, expressed his gratitude saying, “With inflation soaring, many in Gwadar have been unable to prepare for Eid celebrations. The meat distribution has truly won the hearts of everyone here.”

Sughra Bibi, another beneficiary, reflected on the impact of the gesture, “The brotherly act of China means a lot to us. It’s a significant help in these tough times.”
