Sindh committed to proving quality healthcare to public: Dr Pechuho

BADIN: Sindh Minister for Health and Population Welfare Dr Azra Pechuho on Thursday said that the Sindh Government has always taken sincere efforts for the provision of better health facilities to people, especially in far-flung area of the province, saying quality healthcare is the fundamental right of every Pakistani irrespective of race, religion, political & social status.

Sindh Minister for Health & Population Welfare Dr Azra Pechuho was speaking at inaugurating the daylong camp of “Cleft Lips & Cleft palate patients” at old building of District Headquarters Civil Hospital Badin on Wednesday.

The camp was organized by administration of Clapp General Hospital Lahore.

Dr Pechuho said that despite funds shortage, the Sindh Government was taking all out measures to provide quality health facilities to the masses, adding that all institutions and organizations concerned must come forward to assist the government efforts being made to provide quality health facilities to the public.

“No one should get sick and die just because they are poor, or because they don’t have access to the healthcare services they need,” she added, saying that the provincial government would ensure that people of the province have access to quality and affordable health facilities.

On the occasion, Dr Ghulam Qadir Fayaz, while a briefing the Provincial Health Minister, said that through setting up camps for operation of ‘cleft lips and cleft palate patients’ organized by Clapp general hospital Lahore more than 5753 cleft lips and palates patients have been operated upon across the Sindh province where as 728 cleft lips and cleft palate patients have been operated in district, Badin.

Minister for Health & Population Welfare Dr Azra Pechuho also visited ‘Munnu Bhai Thalassemia Care Center Badin’ and where she applauded the services of Dr Haroon Memon for facilitating the poor people of downtrodden areas.

On the occasion, Parliamentary Secretary for Health Qasim Siraj Soomro, MPA Haji Taj Muhammad Mallah, Mujeeb Rehman Jamali, ADC-I, Dr Sher Mohammad Nohrio, District Health Officer, Mohammad Majid Altaf, Assistant Commissioner, In-charge, Thalassemia Care Center, Dr Haroon Memon and other officers of related departments were also present.
