Admin decides to punish officers over executing low-quality uplift schemes

SWAT: A high-level meeting held here on Wednesday decided to take stern action against the consultants and officers responsible for executing low-quality developmental schemes in Malakand Division.

The meeting held at Commissioner’s Office in Said Sharif was chaired by Commissioner Malakand Division Shaukat Ali Yousafzai and attended by the administrative officers of the districts of the Malakand Division and officers of the departments concerned. Deputy Director Monitoring and Evaluation Planning and Development Department Ashfaq Khan briefed the meeting about the progress and quality of work on the ongoing development schemes across the division. During the meeting, reservations were expressed about the quality of work in some ongoing developmental schemes.

On the occasion, the Commissioner Malakand Division directed all Additional Deputy Commissioners and Engineers of C&W to inspect all the ongoing development schemes to addresses deficiencies and anomalies in time. Mr Yousafzai directed the relevant district administration to take strict action against the consultants for executing low-quality work.

He said that development schemes are approved after a long process which is done according to the needs and demands of the local population and building them in poor condition is gross wastage of public money. He said that those responsible for wasting public money will be severely punished. The Commissioner Malakand Division directed the departments concerned to implement the projects according to PC-1, saying the quality of work should be given top priority along with completion of projects according to the timeline.
