Sindh reported 377 dengue cases in October: report

KARACHI: Sindh has recorded 377 dengue fever cases in October with most cases reported in Matiari district, the provincial health department said in a report on the disease.

As per the statistics released by the Sindh Health Department on Sunday, 377 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever were reported in the first week of the month.

132 cases were reported in the Matiari district. In Karachi, 48 cases were reported in the Central district, 46 in the East district, 42 in Korangi, 18 in District South, 21 in the West district and 13 in Malir district, according to the report.

Dengue fever also spreading in Tharparker and Hyderabad districts, according to the report.

The province had recorded 603 cases in September, the health department said. Per the statistics, the majority of dengue hemorrhagic fever cases were reported from Karachi division in last month.

The health department had reported five deaths in Sindh including four in Karachi with three in the Central district and one in the East district of the city.
