Family members are suspected in the shooting of two female teenagers in Sobdar Wah village near Dadu, wherein one of the victims has been killed and the other is in critical condition, police said on Sunday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shah Pir Bux Chandio for KN Shah Taluka reported that officers arrived at the victims’ home after reports of a shooting were received, but the unidentified culprits had escaped by then.
The DSP believe that that a “matrimonial dispute” resulted in the shooting.
The victims were cousins and had been quickly taken to a local hospital. An autopsy is being conducted of the deceased, while the cousin is receiving treatment, DSP Chandio said.
The victims’ uncle and cousin are the prime suspects in the shooting, said Station House Officer (SHO) Ghulam Hyder.
Dadu Senior Superintendent of Police Farrukh Raza Malik did offer comment on the matter but did say that police were investigating all aspects.
A First Information Report (FIR) is yet to be registered.
