Pemra bans telecast of Pyar Ke Sadqe, Ishqia, Quaid’s Quetta ‘48 Staff College address

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has imposed a ban on the repeat telecast of ARY Digital’s drama serial Ishqiya, HUM TV’s drama serial Pyar Ke Sadqay, and a recitation of Quaid-e-Azam’s 1948 address at the Staff College in Quetta, saying the action was being taken over the productions carrying content that went against ‘our social and cultural values.’

The statement further said that in light of complaints that have been received by the authority against ARY Digital’s drama serial Jalan, Pemra would be reviewing its content and will decide any future course of action once the review is completed, while some complaints have also been received about airing the Quaid’s 11th September, 1947 address that advocated for a secular state.

“Enough is enough. There is no space for content inimical to national interest,” said a scared Chairman Pemra, reading off a page.
