ISLAMABAD – Accusing Prime Minister Imran Khan of undemocratically coming to power, the main opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) says that while the incumbent Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) is selected, it does not have a selector.
“We believe there are no selectors. We believe that the PTI and Imran Khan are selected, but there weren’t any selectors who selected them,” said PML-N secretary general Ahsan Iqbal while talking to reporters.
“The selected government is giving an impression that those who selected us, and those before us, have also selected them. Let it be known that we progressive rationalists do not believe in any selectors and severely condemn such regressive theories of selection,” said Mr Iqbal.
Iqbal’s ideas have resonated globally among the Darwinists and evolutionary biologists, who have lauded this nascent political theory for introducing Darwinism to politics, even if expressing skepticism regarding its source.
“This defiance of creationism, by a creature such as the PML-N, is a strong rebuttal of intelligent design by those not designed particularly intelligently,” said Richard Dawkins, ethologist, evolutionary biologist, the author of The Blind Watchmaker.
Pakistani liberal political scientists laud the PML-N for bringing the revolutionary concept of natural selection to Pakistani power corridors. They further commend the opposition party of bringing forth the age old chicken and egg question to Pakistani politics.
“What came first, the chicken or the egg?” asked biologist Aban Marker Kabraji, the Regional Director of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
“As in did Ahsan Iqbal first egg himself on, or chicken out?” she added.
