ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday paid tribute to police officials who laid their lives in the line of duty.
The country observed Police Martyrs Day to commemorate the sacrifices police offered during over a decade-long war against terrorism.
In his message, the PPP chief said that police personnel who embraced martyrdom fighting the terrorists and criminals were heroes of the nation and the entire country was proud of them.
Bilawal said the police force has always fought valiantly against the terrorists and hardened criminals as evident from their brave resistance to the June 30 attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
He also expressed solidarity with families of martyred policemen and asked the government to make every effort for their welfare and well-being including the provision of education and health facilities to their children.
Bilawal said that law enforcement agencies including the police have rendered great sacrifices for protecting lives and properties of the citizens.
