Shehbaz says imperative to provide protection to medics

–PML-N starts distribution of over 100,000 kits to combat coronavirus pandemic

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Friday said it was imperative to ensure the protection of the doctors and health workers in times of a medical crisis, as his party started a drive to distribute protective kits among people.

He said the lives of the entire nation depend on the lives and wellbeing of the medical practitioners, adding the PML-N will not abandon the nation amid the pandemic and will fight alongside them.

“The true measures, however, against the outbreak can only be taken by people through precautions,” he said, adding the people can win this fight with caution, discipline, and cooperation.

According to a PML-N statement, “Over 100,000 kits containing masks, sanitizers, soaps, and an instruction manual were being distributed among the people to arm the nation against coronavirus. This kit will also work as a guideline for the people and spread mass awareness regarding the pandemic.”

Shehbaz lauded the volunteers who have been selflessly working for the people to help them fight against the coronavirus.

He said laborers and daily-wagers are the ones worst hit by the epidemic.

The PML-N chief expressed great grief over the reports of suicides being committed over financial shortcomings. He said suicides indicate the helplessness being faced by the people and prayed for God’s help under these testing times.
