ISLAMABAD: The registrar of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Friday filed another petition seeking contempt of court proceeding against the Health Ministry for barring him from entering the office despite a court order.
The petitioner, Dr Hafeezuddin, named health secretary, Islamabad deputy commissioner and other officials of the ministry as respondents in the case. He stated that the ministry’s officials forcibly removed him from his office on March 30.
The petitioner alleged that the respondents had violated the Islamabad High Court (IHC) decision regarding the opening of his office at the PMDC in violation of the contempt of court. The PMDC guards were also removed from the premises, he said
He prayed the court to initiate contempt of court proceeding against local administration and ministry’s officials for not allowing him to enter the office.
It may be mentioned here that IHC had ordered the ministry to immediately de-seal the PMDC office and allow the registrar to sit in his office.
