Housemaid allegedly killed in Gujrat

GUJRAT: A housemaid was allegedly killed in Kharian, Gujrat under the pretext of coronavirus, it emerged on Wednesday.

According to the local police, Ramsha’s body was buried in haste without an autopsy. “A case has been registered against two persons, including Dr Muhammad Ali, on the complaint of the deceased’s father at the Kharian Cantt police station,” said a police official.

Ramsha’s father, while speaking to the media alleged that the doctor buried his daughter in a hurry by saying that she had died of the deadly coronavirus, adding that her reports for the disease which had come out negative proved that the doctor had murdered her.

Lamenting that she was working in the doctor’s house at a monthly salary of merely Rs8,000, he demanded justice in the matter from the concerned authorities.

In May 2019, a young housemaid was subjected to extreme torture in Gujranwala.

Khadija, 12-year-old, was first beaten with a club and then burnt by placing a hot iron on her body. Iron marks were visible on the little girl’s body when her story went viral on social media.
