ISLAMABAD – During their meeting on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan and renowned Islamic cleric Tariq Jamil led by example in promoting social distancing, by taking strict precautionary measures in times of the coronavirus pandemic.
Meeting up to discuss the current situation in the country, both influential figures initially gestured to greet each other by going in for a hand shake, at which moment the Prime Minister apologised, took a step back and rolled his lips to blow an enthusiastic flying kiss to greet Jamil.
The cleric welcomed the greeting by accepting the flying kiss by showcasing a hugging gesture signifying an embrace of the kiss that had departed the PM’s lips and was safely encapsulated in Jamil’s heart.
Jamil then followed up with blowing a flying kiss of his own in the general direction of the Prime Minister, which in turn was duly caught by PM Khan’s right hand and gradually planted on the external surface of his chest, underlining the entrance of the cleric’s kiss in the premier’s heart.
Eyewitnesses further confirmed that during this greeting session which lasted 45 minutes of their one hour meeting, the two leaders also kept making an ‘ummah noise’.
“This represented both the kisses that they were blowing for each other, and the global entity of which both of them consider themselves worthy leaders,” an observer said while talking to The Dependent.
