There are no signs of Pakistan getting rid of polio virus as the crippling disease took another minor here in its clutches on Saturday, taking this year’s tally of such cases across the country to 18, as per reports by local media outlets.
According to the Sindh polio emergency operation centre (EOC), a three-year-old girl in union council Jamal of the Kashmore district was tested positive for the virus.
This is a sixth confirmed case in Sindh province this year.
Earlier on Feb 15, five new cases of polio have been reported from various parts of the country, four from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and one from Balochistan.
It may be noted that a five-day countrywide anti-polio drive, in which 2,65,000 anti-polio workers participated from across the country, ended on Friday.
