ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday granted post-arrest bail to suspect Hamza Butt, who is nominated in a case pertaining to the scandalous video of former accountability judge Arshad Malik.
Accountability judge Raja Jawad Abbas directed Butt – the nephew of PML-N leader Nasir Butt who is the prime suspect in the case – to furnish surety bond worth Rs300,000.
Hamza along with another accused was detained in Adiala jail on judicial remand.
A cybercrime court on Jan 9 transferred the case to the anti-terrorism court (ATC) on the request of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
“Now the case will be heard by the ATC”, the court had announced, adding that acquittal pleas filed by the accused will also be taken up by the ATC.
