LAHORE: A ceremony was held in Lahore on Saturday to highlight the tourism and cultural potential of the country to attract visitors from all over the world.
The launch party of Saniya’s Culture Express was organized by Saniya Kamal in collaboration with the Lahore Biennale (LB02).
Speaking at the event, art historian Faqir Syed Aijazuddin talked about the rich history of the city and its landmarks, such as Lahore Fort, Wazir Khan Mosque, Shahi Mosque to name a few.
“The culture and heritage of Lahore provide the visitors to enjoy their stay in all aspects,” he said.
British High Commissioner Dr. Christen Turner along with dignitaries from across the world graced the event.
“Our gathering here as a testament to the fact that Pakistani has immense tourism potential and that it is a safe country to travel to,” event organizer Kamal said in a comment to Pakistan Today.
She said the foreigners who attended the event today visited Lahore and they were delighted by the hospitality and the cuisines the city has to offer.
Following the tour, many foreigners’ perception of the country has changed, she said, highlighting how tourism plays an important in portraying the positive image of a country locally and abroad.
According to Saniya Kamal, this is the first step and many more such events and tours will be arranged in the future to further Pakistan’s positive image.
