QUETTA: Senator Sarfraz Bugti on Friday approached the Balochistan High Court (BHC) seeking pre-arrest bail in a case involving the kidnapping of a minor girl.
A day earlier, the additional district and sessions court in Quetta rejected Bugti’s bail application and issued orders for his arrest in the case. However, the police could not arrest the senator as he left immediately after his bail application was rejected.
He was on an interim bail before the arrest orders were issued.
Bugti, who was home minister in former Balochistan chief minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo’s government, is facing charges of involvement in the kidnapping of a minor girl, Maria. Maria’s grandmother had filed a case about her kidnapping against her father on Dec 7 wherein she alleged that the girl was kept in Bugti’s house after being kidnapped.
However, Bugti has denied his involvement in the kidnapping of the girl and termed it as a “domestic dispute”.
