LAHORE: A petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz, seeking removal of her name from the Exit Control List (ECL) is expected to be heard after the vacation period.
The plea was fixed for hearing on Thursday at the Lahore High Court (LHC) by a bench, comprising Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Anwarul Haq Pannu, but both the judges were on the seasonal winter leave.
The PML-N leader, in her petition, had said that the high court had ordered the federal cabinet to decide on removing her name from the ECL but a meeting of the cabinet decided against putting her off of the no-fly list.
She pleaded that her father former premier Nawaz Sharif’s health was deteriorating and he was undergoing medical treatment in London. “Being his daughter, his care is my responsibility,” Maryam maintained.
She pleaded to the court to issue an order, directing the removal of her name from the ECL and return of her passport.
