KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday cancelled the transfer notifications of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Khadim Hussain Rind and Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Rizwan and sought a reply from the Sindh government until 24 December.
An SHC bench heard pleas filed by DIG Rind and SP Dr Rizwan against their transfer and cancelled their transfer notification. The bench observed that apparently, IG has expressed concern over these transfers.
Barrister Faisal Siddiqui, the counsel of SP Rizwan, submitted with the bench that SP Rizwan’s transfer was a violation of court orders.
He informed the court that recently, 80 police officers were transferred from different areas. He said the Sindh government had also violated its laws. He said the transfer of an SSP comes under authorities of IGP.
The counsel said that consultation must be made held with IGP pertaining to the transfer of DIG. The petitioner stated that DIG Khadim Rind’s transfer was made without informing IGP.
Additional Advocate General (AAG) sought more time and informed the court that the Advocate General will himself appear before the court.
