ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary-General Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said that an economic conference on current financial challenges being faced by country will be held in Islamabad on Tuesday (December 17).
In a statement on Monday, he said that causes of deteriorating economic situation in the country would be discussed in the conference, adding that political leaders and economic experts would attend the conference and they would give suggestion to improve the economy.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the incumbent government has taken the strong economy into ICU ward. The situation would worsen further if the emergency measures were not taken, he added.
The PML-N leader said that the facts about the increase in prices of daily used items, electricity and gas as well as unemployment would come under discussion in the conference. He said that the nation would be informed about the one-year performance of PTI led government over the economic disaster in the country.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan continues to seek more loans from the world powers despite of his government had already acquired record huge loans during last one year.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the countrymen were worried about the where the loans acquired from the foreign countries were spent as no improvement is economy was a witness.
He said that all sectors of the country including agriculture, industries and business were depreciated, adding that the government was only alive on socials media.
A national strategy would be devised to tackle the prevailing economic challenges in the conference, he maintained.
