ISLAMABAD: A policeman deployed for the security of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) Azadi March slit his throat with a blade on Monday after police officials refused to grant him leaves.
Head Constable Saddiq Khan was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for medical treatment. According to the spokesperson of the hospital, the policeman was under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where his condition was stated to be critical.
According to sources, the policeman belonged to the Frontier Reserve Police Swat and had requested leaves. On this, his officers reprimanded him and he slit his throat with a blade.
