KARACHI: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a target killer affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) who has allegedly killed at least 111 people.
Speaking to the media, SSP East Ghulam Azfar Mahesar claimed that the arrested target killer was an employee of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi.
“His entire network has been busted. Some 57 such cases against the group have so far surfaced,” the police official said, adding that search operations were also being conducted in the city to find other members of the group.
“The target killer was also involved in the tragic events of May 12 [occurred in Karachi in 2007] . He later changed his appearance and left for missionary activities in other parts of Pakistan, ” according to SSP Mahesar.
In February, the Pakistan Rangers had arrested eight suspects that they claimed were responsible for the fresh wave of terrorism in Karachi during past three months.
