DIPLOMATIC CORNER: Envoy urges Pakistani youth to know Korean language, culture

ISLAMABAD: South Korean Ambassador Kwak Sung-kyu has urged the youth to benefit from the Korean language and culture as South Korea and Pakistan have decades-long friendly relations deeply rooted in history, culture and religion.

Addressing the participants of a ‘Quiz on Korea’ event held here at University of National Modern Languages (NUML), the ambassador called for strengthening the friendly ties between the Pakistani and Korean peoples through learning about each country’s culture.

The event was held as part of existing active cultural exchanges between Pakistan and South Korea, under the aegis of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in collaboration with the NUML.

In the congratulatory remarks, the NUML leadership appreciated the Korean Embassy’s endeavour to enhance academic and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Through the quiz, participants, including Pakistani students, as well as other interested persons could gain a deeper understanding of the Korean culture, history, etc.

The preliminary round took place at the auditorium of the NUML and decided the winner who will participate in the global final round in Korea this coming September.

Overall, the event was a success, as not only the competitors and the audience enjoyed themselves, but they also left motivated to pursue more knowledge about Korea.
