Youth rescued from Pakpattan Police’s private torture cell

PAKPATTAN: A chained youth was rescued from private torture cell of police by a court bailiff.

The court bailiff raided a private jail near City Police Station in tehsil Arifwala of Pakpattan. A suspended policeman was found engaged in torturing and investigating the youth identified as Arslan, during the raid. The police said that the youth has been arrested in connection with a robbery.

SHO City police station Arifwala said that the youth was arrested by SI Manzoor early morning over theft charges and his arrest was mentioned in daily police diary.

However, the rescued youth alleged that he was handed over to police by his employer for demanding salary as per his services and application for his recovery was lodged on April 16.

The suspended policeman Ashiq also misbehaved with the raiding court bailiff during the operation and threatened them.

The judge of the district court has sought a report from the police regarding the incident.
