Minorities enjoy full privileges in Pakistan: Fawad

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday said that minorities in Pakistan are enjoying full privileges.

In an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the minister said Islamabad will not allow its soil to be used against any other country.

Chaudhry said he is unaware about whereabouts of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar and added that no one will be allowed to challenge writ of the government.

Replying to a query he said, minorities were enjoying full freedom in Pakistan. He said Islam is a religion of peace and forced conversions are against the spirit of Islam.

The minister maintained that Fayazul Hassan was removed as Punjab information minister over his remarks against the Hindu community.

The two sisters had gone missing from Hafiz Salman village near Deharki few days back. Later, a video clip surfaced in which they can be heard saying that neither has anyone abducted them nor held them hostage as they left their home out of their own will and embraced Islam without any duress.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had also directed Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar to immediately look into reports that two Hindu girls abducted from Ghotki district have been moved to Rahim Yar Khan after their forced conversion and underage marriages.
