DHAKA: Famous singer Shehnaz Begum passed away in Dhaka on Sunday after suffering a heart attack at the age of 67.
She was born in Dhaka in 1952 and was famous for singing iconic national songs like Sohni Dharti Allah Rakhay and Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan.
She was given Ekushey Padak in 1992 and Bangladesh Film Award for best background female singer for Chhutir Phande (1990). She shot to fame in Bangladesh during the 1960s and 1970s.
She is survived by two children and husband.
