Dialogue only option to resolve issues between Pakistan, India: Fawad

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Saturday said that dialogue was the only option to resolve all outstanding issues between Pakistan and India and Pakistan had offered talks to its neighbour.

In an interview with Russian media, the minister said that Kashmir was the main dispute between India and Pakistan which should be resolved through peaceful means and talks.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that if India would take one step, Pakistan would take two for ensuring peace in the region, Fawad said.

He said that Indian Prime Minister Modi wanted to create war hysteria to take advantage in upcoming general elections in India.

The Information Minister categorically said that Pakistan did not want war, but if war was imposed, Pakistani nation knew how to defend motherland.

On the issue of Pulwama attack, he said that Pakistan was not given any evidence by India.

Chaudhry Fawad said that Pakistan had made an offer of investigation but there was no response from India.

He further said that India always tried to blame Pakistan for its problems. About Balakot incident, he said that India and Pakistan had their own perspectives but the world media reports had shown the truth.

He said that Pakistan and India were neighbouring countries which had fought three wars in 70 years but disputes could not be resolved through wars.

The minister said that one option was to try to weaken each other. However he said the best option was to sit together, hold dialogue and become a partner against terrorism.

He said that India was involved in terrorism in Balochistan and it was trying to weaken Pakistan through various conspiracies.
