LAHORE: The Lahore Accountability Court (AC) on Wednesday declared Kamran Kiyani, brother of former army chief Gen (r) Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani, Paragon City Housing Society Director Nadim Zia and others accused in the Ashiana Housing scandal as absconders.

According to the details, Accountability Court Judge Najamul Hassan had declared three suspects as absconders on January 10, besides directing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to publish their arrest warrants in newspapers and filing a report thereof before it on February 11.

It may be mentioned that NAB prosecutor Waris Ali Janjua had requested the court to initiate proceedings under sections 87 and 88 of criminal procedure so that Kamran Kiayani and his aides could be declared absconders.

It was said in the NAB report that the warrants of the accused persons have not been presented because their houses have been found locked and deserted.

During the hearing, three suspects including former principal secretary of Prime Minister (PM) Fawad Hassan Fawad, former Director General (DG) of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Khan Cheema and Shahid Shafiq of Bismillah Engineering were also presented in the court during the hearing of the case.
