Ongoing accountability wave responsible for ruckus in assemblies, says PM

–COAS says country’s prosperity linked with Balochistan’s prosperity

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that the ongoing accountability wave is responsible for the ruckus in assembly sessions.

The premier said this while addressing the participants of the National Security Workshop in Balochistan.

“The hue and cry in the assemblies are not because democracy is in danger but over our audacity to hold accountability,” he said. He also said that the new government gave the concept of ‘Naya Pakistan’ and society progresses when the law is implemented.

The premier said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will open new ways of progress for Balochistan.

Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that the country’s prosperity is linked with the prosperity of Balochistan.

He said this while interacting with the participants of 3rd National Security Workshop Balochistan at General Headquarters (GHQ). This interaction is a part of the three-week workshop being held in Quetta.

The army chief said that the nation has given innumerable sacrifices for the attainment of peace. “Our internal and external challenges demand a comprehensive national response and Pakistan Army, in coordination with other institutions of the state, is fully engaged in enabling that response,” he said.

He reiterated that prosperity of Pakistan is linked with the prosperity of Balochistan.

The participants thanked the army chief for the opportunity of security workshop provided by the Pakistan Army, saying that they feel reinvigorated to play their part in national development.
