SHIKARPUR: Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh on Sunday alleged that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s sister was involved in corruption culture while the premier himself had a hand in not letting her being held accountable.
“The sister of Imran Khan was also involved in corruption culture and Imran Khan was directly involved in supporting his sister to get her free from such allegation,” he said.
This he stated while talking to media persons on Sunday here at the Shikarpur Press Club.
The minister further alleged that the accountability drive was a political tactic to gain more power. He said that PPP leaders were being held accountable only to defame the opposition which was purely political victimisation in a bid to damage their political image, which was the untoward practice to create the unrest.
He said that neither could any power succeed in bringing a governor’s rule in Sindh nor would any forward block end Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) government in the province as the PPP regime had come to power with the votes of the people in accordance with Constitutional provisions, while the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) had already been rejected by the people in Sindh.
The minister said that the PPP leadership wanted to improve the socio-economic life of the people as per agenda left by PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and his daughter Benazir Bhutto.
He said that there were non-qualified persons in the Cabinet of Imran Khan who were creating differences between the federal government members and the oppositions.
He also said and the people of Sindh strongly opposed the construction of the Kalabagh Dam project as the Sindh government was trying to make projects for generating electricity through wind power and solar system to fulfil the need of electricity of the urban and rural areas.
Earlier, the minister congratulated the newly elected body of Shikarpur Press Club and offered every support at his personal level and government side.
