CM orders inquiry after doctor’s ‘negligence’ claims two lives

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday took notice of the death of two women in Rahwali area of Gujranwala due to the alleged negligence of doctors at a private hospital, seeking a report from the health secretary at the earliest.

On Friday, two women died due to the alleged negligence of a lady doctor at a private hospital in Gujranwala. The incident took place in the vicinity of the Gujranwala Cantt Police Station.

According to the family members of the deceased, namely Sidra and Iqra, both the women passed away after the doctor administered them an injection following childbirth.

The heirs have alleged that the doctor gave women the “wrong injection” which claimed their lives. The lady doctor and other staff fled the hospital after the deaths.

The chief minister has ordered an inquiry into the matter and warned of strict action against those who were responsible for the negligence.

The heirs of the deceased have demanded an action against the lady doctor, whereas the police, after registering a case against the accused, have started probing the incident.

MEETS GOVERNOR:

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar called on CM Buzdar at the Governor House Lahore where ideas were exchanged regarding the matters of mutual interests, administrative issues and development projects across the province.

The CM also met with the general public who were visiting Governor House. He frankly inquired to them about their issues.

CM Buzdar said that under the dynamic leadership of PM Imran Khan, the Punjab government is vigilant to implement the comprehensive strategy of public welfare. He also added that the decision of opening the gate of Governor House was in the interest of public, adding that PM Imran is taking all out steps to facilitate the general public.

‘IMRAN BROKE STATUS QUO’:

PTI Secretary General Arshad Dad and newly-elected MPA of PP-168 Malik Asad Khokhar also called on CM Buzdar at the CM Office.

He congratulated Khokhar on his victory in the by-election. Talking to this occasion, the chief minister said this success depicts people’s confidence on the policies of the ‘captain’.

“People have voted again for the new Pakistan,” he said and added that under the vibrant leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the ruling PTI will become Pakistan’s most popular party.
