NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Representative to the United Nations (UN) Maleeha Lodhi Thursday said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will bring prosperity in the region.
Speaking during a debate in the UN General Assembly on gaps and impediments faced by middle-income countries in the implementation of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development, she said that CPEC is a bright example of partnership among developing countries.
Lodhi underlined that 73 per cent poor population of the world lived in developing countries of average income. “It stands next to impossible to achieve abiding and durable development without alleviating poverty,” she remarked.
Investment in developing countries will accelerate the pace of development in the world, Lodhi said.
