Fakhr-e-Alam receives warm welcome from Governor Sindh as ‘Mission Parwaaz’ lands in Karachi

KARACHI: Award-winning actor and singer-songwriter Fakhr-e-Alam’s ‘Mission Parwaaz’, a 28-day journey across the globe dedicated to the people of Pakistan, which took off on October 10 arrived in Karachi on Tuesday.

The activist was greeted by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail who lauded the singer’s efforts and achievements.

“This is a very proud moment for the entire nation. We all are extremely happy and proud of Fakhr-e-Alam. His enthusiasm and desire to set a world record is commendable,” Ismail said.

Speaking to the media at the airport, Alam said, “There was a different feeling when I I entered the Pakistani airspace.”

Alam also shared a picture of himself with Ismail on social media writing, “I am truly honoured and grateful to my friend the honourable Governor Sindh Imran Ismail for receiving me at the airport on my arrival in Karachi. Thank you sir.”

He also shared pictures of himself at the airport and said that he is “truly grateful and humbled.”

Alam flew to Karachi from Dubai and will visit Islamabad and Lahore next. From Lahore, he will fly to Dhaka, Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta and then Darwin in Australia before heading back to Clearwater. He began his mission on October 10 from Clearwater, Florida from where has flown to Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Croatia and Egypt to name a few places.

Speaking earlier to Pakistan Today, Alam had shared that the entire trip is expected to be completed in 28 days, given the weather conditions are favourable. He requested people to pray for the successful completion of his mission.

As to why he decided to take up this herculean challenge, Alam had replied, “If I successfully do this, I will be the first Pakistani to do so and will bring Pakistan’s names to the aviation books.”

“The world is currently facing a shortage of pilots and I want to inspire young Pakistanis to take up this profession because the country is full of talented people whose potential has not yet been tapped. I want to encourage the youth in the country to dream big and then follow those dreams.”

Alam continued, “My aim is also to present a positive picture of Pakistan to the world and show them that we are a brave and peace-loving nation and are no less than any other country.”
