Saqib Malik’s much-awaited directorial debut, Baaji featuring Meera in the lead has finally seen the light of the day and will be releasing soon.
Speaking to Pakistan Today earlier, Meera confirmed that the film’s shooting has completed and is in its post-production stage. Moreover, Meera also shared that the film will be produced under Meera’s production house, which she in the process of setting up.

According to a press release, the film is a social drama-cum-thriller set against the backdrop of a fading Lollywood and the emerging new order of the Pakistan film industry. Baaji promises to be a film with a difference. It is also rumoured that the film is loosely based on Meera’s own life.
Meera had said earlier that the films under her production house will carry social messages because she wants to bring about a change with her movies.
Apart from Meera, the film boasts an ensemble cast of Osman Khalid Butt, Ali Kazmi, musician-actor Mohsin Abbas Haider, supermodel Amna Ilyas, Lollywood’s yesteryear star, Nisho, as well as the much sought after Nayyar Ejaz.
The picture of the film’s cast has been circulating on social media and fans and audiences are excited to see this venture come to life.
Sharing the news on social media, Osman Khalid Butt, wrote, “I interrupt this hiatus to give news I’ve waited the better part of a year to announce: I’m starring in Saqib Malik’s debut film (been a long time coming!) Baaji opposite Amna Ilyas, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Ali Kazmi, and – Meera. Yes, you heard that right.”

Amna Ilyas also expressed her excitement on her upcoming project, saying, “It’s a dream come true. Saqib Malik’s ability as a director is so astounding that I can’t wait for people to see it.”
Baaji is expected to hit the screens in mid-2019.
