‘Rape accuser’ allegedly set widow’s house on fire in Narowal

An influential man, with the help of his accomplices allegedly barged into the house of a widow and her family members and set their house on fire after sprinkling petrol there. As a result, the house was reduced to ashes and its roof collapsed.

According to a local media report, it was stated that this was done in order to “punish her” for reporting to police his “attempt to rape her daughter-in-law” more than a week ago, at Naatay Wali village of Shakargarh Tehsil.

The initial police investigations stated that the accused attempted to rape the woman’s daughter-in-law on September 14. However, both the women offered resistance, following which he hit the daughter-in-law on the head with the butt of his pistol, leaving her injured.

The widow reported the matter to Shah Gharib police station by filing a complaint against the suspect, although no arrests were made.

The police are yet to take action against the suspect and his accomplices.
