SARGODHA: The divisional administration and police have finalised strict security arrangements to maintain law and order during Muharram.
This was stated by an official of the divisional administration while talking to APP on Sunday.
He said that a strict security plan would be adopted across the division for providing tight security to the participants of 4,811 Majalis and 766 Muharram processions.
He added that 106 points had been declared sensitive and over 15,000 security personnel will perform duties on 9th and 10th of Muharram.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sultan Ahmed has also directed concerned officials to ensure foolproof security arrangements during Muharram and to consult with ulemas and parliamentarians for maintenance of peace.
All resources would be utilised to maintain law and order in the region during Muharram, he added.
A special monitoring cell has also been set up to monitor the situation, he said, adding that special staff would also be deployed for security of all sensitive places.
A total of 8,000 police personnel, 6,000 volunteers, 2,000 officials of special police, 4,000 police volunteers and 25 teams of Elite Force will perform Muharram duties.
