Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif forgot to complete the Surah Al-Kausar during a multi-party meeting.
In a video circulating on social media, Sharif can be seen reciting the Surah but he finished it without reciting the last verse of the Surah.
This is not the first time that a politician has forgotten to recite the Quran correctly. In 2010, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Rehman Malik recited Surah Ikhlas in the wrong manner.
A petition against Malik was also submitted in the Supreme Court (SC) in 2011 for incorrect recitation. According to the petition, the PPP leader failed to recite the Surah during a cabinet meeting, hence he should be disqualified.
