- President, his wife visit Harley Street Clinic in London
LONDON: President Mamnoon Hussain and his wife on Sunday visited the Harley Street Clinic to inquire about the health of senior Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Kulsoom Nawaz, wife of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Hussain Nawaz received the president and his wife at the clinic. It is pertinent here to mention that Kulsoom Nawaz is undergoing treatment for throat cancer in the Harley Street Clinic. She was put on life support after the former first lady was admitted to the hospital where she suffered a cardiac arrest.
Kulsoom Nawaz has been unconscious and on the life support since then. She wife was diagnosed with lymphoma – a cancer of the lymph nodes – in August last year. She has since undergone several sessions of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Initially, she showed signs of improvement but as of late her condition has deteriorated.
Kulsoom Nawaz was elected to the National Assembly for the first time in by-polls held in September last year. She filled the seat that fell vacant after her husband was disqualified by the Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case.
