Social activist Amanullah Chandio, son, nephew go ‘missing’

HYDERABAD: Unidentified men took away renowned literary and social figure Amanullah Chandio, his 17-year-old son Saifullah Chandio and 20-year-old nephew Gulshan from their residence.

Amanullah is the father of Mehran Students Council leader Saifullah and Voice of Missing Persons of Sindh (VMP-Sindh) Deputy Convener Sindhu Chandio.

Twelve vehicles parked outside their house following which men in plainclothes entered their house, tortured Sindhu and kidnapped Amanullah and the others, according to Sindhu.

She also said that the issue of ‘missing persons’ was aggravating day by day.

She said, “We vibrantly highlighted the issue of missing person all over the Sindh.”

“We also held many protests against enforced disappearances in Hyderabad and Karachi,” Sindhu added.
