With the elections result pouring in, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has managed to get the support of not just fellow politicians but the artists from the entertainment/showbiz industry as well. With Abrar ul Haq contesting for PTI from Narowal, Hamza Ali Abbasi is a staunch supporter, there were various names on the list.
Following this, a top model from the early 2000s Syed Muhammad Abbas Jafri has won a seat in the Sindh Assembly and will be representing PTI from here on.
Jafri was among the PTI candidates who returned successfully in the general elections 2018.
Jafri contested the election from Sindh Assembly constituency PS-125 Karachi Central-III and secured 30687 votes.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) candidate Abdul Haseeb was runner up with 26818 votes.
The model turned politician defeated 16 candidates to win the seat for his party that is all set to form government in Islamabad.
Abbas had secured various awards for modelling including the Lux Style Awards and was the face of popular menswear brand Bareeze Man. He is now set to step his foot in the political world.
