Looks like Maya Ali struck gold. Just a few days after the release of her debut film, Teefa in Trouble’s, trailer, it has been revealed that the actress has landed her next film and that too with Asim Raza, the man behind some of television’s most successful commercials.
According to reports, Maya has replaced Mahira Khan as the leading lady in Raza’s upcoming rom-com, Paray Hat Luv, opposite Sheheryar Munawar. Asim Raza, who directed Ho Mann Jahaan, was initially keen on casting Mahira and Sheheryar together in the flick, but due to date issues, Mahira was unable to commit to the film.
However, the director revealed that Mahira is still very much part of the film and will be playing “a special role.”
Earlier, Raza speaking about the plot of the film had said, Parey Hat Luv is a contemporary romantic comedy primarily set in Pakistan and Europe. The basic premise of the film is an unlikely romance between a young free-willed, commitment-phobic and a beautiful, strong-willed woman as they happen to meet and fall in love over a series of unplanned encounters.”
“The story plays on an underlying fear of today’s generation; committing to anything in life. Written by the seasoned writer, Imran Aslam, the story promises to be a two-hour journey of romance, emotion, drama and witty puns.”
Paray Hat Luv is scheduled to go on floors in September, with the first spell of shooting to take place in Azad Kashmir. It is slated for release on Eid-ul-Azha 2019.
The film will also feature veteran actors Nadeem Baig and Hina Dilpazeer, Ahmed Ali Butt, Zara Noor Abbas, and Rachel Viccaji among others.
Maya Ali has previously worked with Raza in a number of television commercial including Lux and Coca-Cola.
