Pakistani scientist to participate in Lindau Nobel Laureate meeting

PESHAWAR: A scientist from Peshawar has been selected in a group of 600 scientists from around the world to participate in the 68th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Medicine.

The meeting is scheduled to take place from June 24 to 29 in Lindau, Germany. Dr Salman Qureshi is amongst the youngest Pakistani scientists to attend the moot and is currently working at the World Health Organisation.

30 Nobel Laureates gather in Lindau, annually, to meet with the next generation of leading scientists from around the world. The idea of the Nobel Laureate meeting is to foster the exchange among scientists of different generations, cultures, and disciplines

These include 500-600 post-graduates, PhD students, and post-doc researchers.

Dr Qureshi is an alumnus of Peshawar Medical College and studied at Edwardes College. He served as the regional chairperson and president of the Asian Medical Students’ Association and has been known for securing “Best Chapter Award” for Pakistan in 2015.

He has also served as a clinical lecturer and research associate at the Rehman Medical College in Peshawar.
