Nida Dar’s five-for guides Pakistan to 23-run-win against SL in T20 Asia Cup

KUALA LUMPUR: In its third match, Pakistan women team beat Sri Lanka by 23 runs in T20 Asia Cup in Kinrara Oval. The green shirts won their first match against Thailand, while defeated by Bangladesh in the second match.

Playing first Pakistan scored 136/4 in 20 overs. Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof played blistering innings of 61* on 41 balls, while Nahida Khan scored 38.

BMSM Kumari took 2 wickets for 18 runs and NND Silva gave 13 runs for 1 wicket.

Chasing the target, Sri Lanka could only score 113/9 in 20 overs. BYA Mendis scored 25 runs and MDN Hansika played innings of 24 runs.

Meanwhile, Nida Dar took 5 wickets for 21 runs and Bismah Maroof took 1 wicket for 14 runs.

On Monday, after their opener against Thailand, Pakistan succumbed to a seven-wicket loss against Bangladesh in their second Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup 2018 match in Malaysia on Monday, 4 June.

Put in, Pakistan were restricted to just 95/5, in itself largely thanks to Sana Mir’s 23-ball 21 late in the innings. Bangladesh chased down the target in 17.5 overs.
