KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) registered a case against 22 persons that were allegedly appointed and recruited “illegally” in 2012.
The anti-graft body also included four senior officers in the reference.
The persons had been recruited directly in grade 17 and 18 by a selection committee which was headed by Minorities’ Affairs Department secretary.
The secretary had allegedly “misued” his authority.
The government claimed it had regularised the appointees in light of the recent directives of the Sindh High Court (SHC), law and decisions of the provincial cabinet.
NAB claimed that one of the recruited officers was out of the country on the day of his interview.
Similary, the anti-corruption watchdog claimed that two other officers that were serving as assistant directors did not meet the required educational qualifications at the time of their recruitment.
