LAHORE: Boxing champion Amir Khan and wife Faryal Makhdoom are currently in Lahore and seem to be having quite a blast, though all low-key.
The couple, whose newborn daughter, arrived less than a month ago, arrived in the country Tuesday to attend the closing ceremony of the Inter-Division Punjab Open Boxing Championship on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, the Khans had an action-packed day as they visited designer Faraz Manan and dined with Ali Xeeshan, Faraz Manan and model Mehreen Syed at her house. Amir also visited the shrine of Data Darbar to pay homage to the Sufi saint and then also chilled with qawal Rahat Fateh Ali Khan into the wee hours of the morning. The couple received security protocol from the Punjab Police.
Talking to the media outside the shrine, the 31-year-old boxer said he has big plans for the boxing league after Ramazan. According to Khan, Pakistani boxers will be taking part in the league with the possibility of Indian boxers taking part in the second edition.
He also revealed that his next fight will be in September.
The couple is now headed to Islamabad after which they will go to Sialkot before heading back home.
