PTI leader and lawyer says his wife and daughter were accompanying him when he fainted and fell on the tube station’s platform
The PTI leader maintained that his injuries were caused after he tripped at London’s underground platform station as earlier stated by PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry on May 2.
“I fainted and suffered a collapse at an underground station in London,” Bokhari said. He further explained, ”My wife and daughter were with me when I fell flat on my face and suffered injuries.”
However, the Mirror on Saturday quoted British Transport Police (BTP) spokesperson saying that an unidentified man was arrested as part of the investigation against the assault incident at London’s Marble Arch tube station referred above, in which the victim is widely considered to be Bokhari himself.
The BTP had also displayed an “appeal to information” notice on April 27 at Marble Arch tube station referring the incident as ‘attempt to murder’. “A member of the public was pushed onto the tracks by another person on Eastbound Platform of the Central Line,” the notice read.
The incident is said to have taken place at around 3 pm in the afternoon, after which it was closed down for the public for three hours, reopening at 6 pm.
Earlier, a video of PTI leader Naeem Bokhari was released from London airport on Saturday. In the video, he can be seen sitting in a wheelchair and in a bit of pain, with a bruised face and hand on his ribs.
On May 2, Naeem Bokhari, was said to have suffered a head injury and several fractures after falling on the platform of a London underground train station.
PTI leader Fawad Chaudhary shared the news on his Twitter handle, stating that Bokhari is now in stable condition.
“Naeem Bokhari has suffered personal injury whilst on an overseas trip to London, whilst on the platform of a London Underground station platform, Mr Bokhari experienced a fall. This has resulted in an injury to the head, as well fractured ribs, His condition is stable, our prayers,” Chaudhary wrote.
The prominent lawyer and TV host joined the PTI in 2016. He represented Imran Khan in high-profile disqualification in Supreme Court and was also the head of the party’s legal team in the Panama Papers case against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
