Administration of expired polio vaccines causes 3 children’s death

PESHAWAR: As many as three children have died due to the administration of expired anti-polio injections, while four others are in critical condition.

Doctors have confirmed that the deaths were caused by expired polio injections while the health department has started an investigation.

As per media reports, as many as three children died and four are in critical condition in the area of Muslim town in Peshawar due to the administration of expired vaccine doses here on Monday. The children’s health deteriorated soon after the administration of vaccines and ultimately led to death. They were rushed to hospitals but three of them died at the spot, while four are still in critical condition.

The health department secretary has taken notice of the incident and started investigations. The residents of the area and the family members of the dead are protesting. They have demanded strict actions against the responsible persons.
