Special ‘early pension fund’ for disqualified ministers announced in federal budget

ISLAMABAD – The federal government gave due importance to disqualified pensioners in the budget announced on Friday, with 95 per cent of the 15 per cent increase in pensions dedicated to an ‘early pension fund’ for ousted ministers.

This move is intended to cover the gaps between the incentives provided to the disqualified government employees and serving employees who will be disqualified in the upcoming fiscal year.

Besides, a proposal to increase the overall income – both their sanctioned salaries at the time of serving, and the money gathered from other sources – by 10 per cent has been approved.

The budget was announced by Miftah Ismail, hours after he was appointed as the new Ishaq Dar.

In addition to this, PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has also instructed to balance the allowance of the PM’s Office, and PM House, with the budget approving the construction work and eventual sustenance of Ousted PM Office and Ousted PM House.

The government has also increased the house rent allowance of the prime ministers, both serving and ousted.

The increase in house rent allowance was the main demand of a former ousted premier close to the current serving premier, The Dependent has learnt
