Bus-tractor collision in Layyah kills six

LAYYAH: A passenger bus collided with a tractor trolley in the early hours of Wednesday in the Shaukatabad area of District Layyah, killing at least six people, leaving one injured.

The accident allegedly occurred due to over-speeding near the Fatehpur area, according to details. Among the deceased are three brothers who were on their way to work, Nasir, Moosa Khan, and Muhammad Yasin, all of whom were sons of Haji Ameer Shah, Ghafoor Khan, son of Aslam Khan and Ramzan, son of Ghulam Haider.

The bodies and injured were shifted to the nearby District Hospital Layyah for post-mortem and medical treatment respectively.

In another incident, a speeding tanker travelling to Karachi from Sheikhupura, carrying petroleum spirit overturned on National Highway near Bahawalpur.

Rescue teams have reached the site and operation to clear road is underway.
