KARACHI: After not being selected by the selectors for Ireland-England tour, Fawad Alam on Monday tweeted that he will be cheering for green shirts from his home.
On his social media account, the left-handed batsman wrote: “Congrats to all members of the squad. I will be cheering for all of you from home. With team efforts and Allah ke hukum se PAKISTAN will win InshAllah.”

Despite being one of the best performers in the domestic cricketer, the 32-year-old Alam was excluded from the upcoming tour. His exclusion has been questioned by cricket fans, experts and former cricketers including Wasim Akram who called it ‘beyond comprehension’.
Alam played his last Test match against New Zealand in 2009.
On Sunday, Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq announced the sixteen-member squad for Pakistan’s tour of England and Ireland here on Sunday.
Nine batsmen have been included in the squad to counter the difficult playing position in England.Azhar Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Sami Aslam have been included in the squad as opening batsmen.
Asad Shafiq, Haris Sohail, Babar Azam, Saad Ali, Usman Salahuddin have been added as middle order batsmen. Faheem Ashraf finds his place as an all-rounder in the squad while Shadab Khan has been included as a spinner.
